 Thats an impressive set of photos !! So glad you did get a frizzle -looks just like its mum !The smooth-feathered is showing some of her Poland great-great-great grannies colouring -thats where she got the topknot from ,I think ,and will produce you some proper ,silkied Showgirls if you cross her with a Silkie ,as will that gorgeous white Showgirl ( is that COOKIE ? ) She is really fluffy !..........I am really looking forward to seeing your next generation :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Yep that's my gorgeous Cookie, love her so much and i'm really impressed with the Poland and Frizzle crosses so amazing looking. I was thinking it had the Poland look about it, that top-not is so cool but it gets it very mucky in the mash i make them every morning. It can still see tho so i shall leave it bee for now, if not it will have to have a trim around it's eyes. Yes can't wait to start pairing them up once i know what i have. The new runs and cupboards are nearly ready.

   Cant stop grinning today ........NCOTB was kind enough to take two of my Showgirls to the Welsh Federation Championship show for me -we thought they might be a bit of a talking-point and raise a few smiles. So grateful to Sue for taking them for me ,she had her own birds to take care of .........so can you imagine how delighted I was to see this ??

Bit confused

"Showgirls" whats the definition? Is it girls that we/you show or is it TNN crosses.

Could someone put me straight as I'm dangerous when my mind is occupied thinking

 Mine are originally from a deliberate Tnn/Silkie cross , with a dash of Poland blood early on . Takes quite a few generations to get good Silkie feathering, black skin and extra toes on a naked -necked bird .They can have "bibs ",like this girl ,or completely naked necks (hopefully ,in the next generation !) They have been recorded since at least 1930 and are fairly well-known in the USA,where they are able to be shown in their own and some Silkie classes ,but not so in the UK .The name is for both males and females,so you arent the only one thats confused !! The accepted story about the name is that the birds are supposed to look like Las Vegas Showgirls ,wearing a feather boa !!!

Well done! Does that mean that the Polish blood brings in a top-knot? Or do you stick with the Silkies head-gear?
