an over reaction i know but..

Postby raychellncrystal » Tue Jul 13, 2010 8:10 pm

hi! i realise this is most likely a REALLY stupid question - so please be gentle with me :D
but, one of my new chicks was ill, sneezing and making weird noises etc, and rattling in his chest, so i brought him in to my bedroom (where i'd been raising hte chicks) and hes been there for 4 days now (with all hte windows open) not of the other 4 birds are ill at all and they were exposed to him for at least a day, any how, he died this morning after a long hard fight (he pasted up as a 2 week old chick, and so was behind the others they are now 5 weeks old) .. well, i've got a sore throat and a fever of about 100 f ... coincidence or more ? surely if i'd caught it from him id be really really ill ,and so would hte other birds ??

as i said i know its a silly question.. but, well, ive never been afraid to ask stupid things!!

Gosh, was it a good price to have your hen's teeth pulled out at the vets? My vet charges a fortune to check my hen's teeth. ;)

I take it everything you were fine and you can't catch a cold from your chickens. I always panic when my chickens are ill - then I feel rotten too!

(unless its really serious like avian flu (and its the H1N! virus that transfered over to people)
