My ducks smell

Postby Legally Duck » Sat Jul 31, 2010 10:40 pm

I am a pretty new duck keeper, I have had chickens over a year and they do not smell. My lovely ducks smell really quite bad and I am worried my neighbours are going to complain. They are cleaned out regularly and have fresh water to bath in every day. Could any body give me any tips?? THank you

how many have you got? What breed? and how big a living space?

Funnily enough I'd say the worst thing for smell when it comes to ducks is their water. Sniff around and try and decide where the worst smell is coming from, their coop, the ground where they poo, them or their water
8 chickens, 14 chicks, 5 turkeys, 8 geese, 11 ducks, 3 rabbits, 2 donkeys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 horse. :smt117

also what kind of arrangement have you got for a run? a concrete or slab base that can be hosed down is best if the area is small.
I'm Andy and I keep a few ducks and I also keep/breed Malaysian Serama chickens.
