Some advice please....

Post by Ruralhome68 » 12 Aug 2012, 17:10

We had a fox attack back at the start of July, the fox killed 2 of our 9 hens and although the others were unharmed they were traumatised. The fox tried again and again to get the hens and also tried to snatch our pup. To cut a very long story short, we were going away on holiday so moved the hens to my daughters boyfriends farm - they were up there to last weekend.

They are now home and have a completely new WIR with attached fox-proof garden.

We added two new girls last week but they are all still quiet and different from before.

Will they settle and forget in time?

They will also need to get over the move plus the addition of 2 newbies, so give them a couple of weeks of TLC & they should recover well. ;)

I wondered if I was just worrying and being impatient

They aren't bothered by the new girls - they are the double of the two the :-# fox killed so haven't had much reaction to them.

Thank you

If they stay quiet be sure to check they are not sick or suffering from mites etc.
