I am soooo lucky. I got a whippet 4 weeks ago and she is settling in beautifully. Even making friends with my cats. She is 8/9 months old and had lived in a shed
Took this photo of her today and thought I would show her off and take the opportunity to plug a local Yorkshire business. She is a modelling a jumper that I got today and the company makes so many other wonderful things.

This is Annie.
Here is the company I got it from - they made it from measurements I gave them so it is a perfect fit.

What a lovely girl

- and lucky her that you found her - she has certainly fallen on her feet with you

Chris

I live in my own little world but it's ok - they know me here!

She has a rather bright pink coat too. I'm getting a more subtle black waterproof number made for her.
I'm not thinking about her past, I don't know any more about it but I am so happy she seems so adaptable, docile, gentle, loving etc. I'm sure some rescue dog owners have really tough issues to work through.

She is in that same purple coat again this morning. She is fabulous. For me she is the perfect breed.

She's a beauty!
I used to have a fawn and white one years ago and she was gorgeous. Now I've got a er... umm... well a brown and white lurchery type thing bit of whippet, bit of ...? but she's great natured and is asleep on the bed snoring along with my wife as I type this

She's gorgeous! I have a soft spot for whippets. We've got a whippet x bedlington terrier but I was very tempted with a pure whippet.

She has settled in so well. My cats have accepted her and she walks around the chickens without bothering them. Couldn't have wished for a better natured dog.

Our Schnauzer had to be put to sleep last month and we all said we couldn't possibly go through owning a dog again..... and then we met some Greyhounds at tesco as part of a rehoming 'thing' so now my son wants a Greyhound or Whippet and now so does my daughter who has her own family.
We wont be getting anything at all for at least 5 months so in the meantime does anyone have any 'lived with' experience of any of the two?
Are they good with other pets? Good with children?
I know they are pretty much like Schnauzers in that they dont need vast amounts of walking but are they susceptible to any illnesses we should be aware of... Any other problems?
