Having just become the proud owner of 2 trios of gold Dutch can I ask a question? 1 trio is 2010 hatch the other 2011, at the moment they are in the chick caravan in isolation for another week - they both came from the same seller. I will then need to put them out, at the moment they are seperated but wondered, as they are so friendly - would it be ok to put both trios in the same pen, or will the 2 cocks fight? I have a large covered growers coop/pen with plenty of roosting space, come spring I will, hopefully, have 2 new coops and runs for them but thought they would be better protected form the winter weather in the growers pen.
Chris

love me, love my 4 dogs, 3 cats, over 100 chickens (but don't tell OH) and 7 sheep - oops, almost forgot the 2 tanks of fish!

I live in my own little world but it's ok - they know me here!

If they'd been reared together and always kept together they may have been okay but I think that they would scrap if you put them in the same enclosure now. Even the hens can be very nasty to other alien hens if the mood takes them.

Why has this thread gone so quiet? Is there another dutch thread running? New to keeping them and hoped to find a current thread to pick brains :)
