HELP

Post by Brockie » 29 Jun 2012, 07:01

Ive got 4 chickens all hybrids but one of them has started to turn on my 2 year old daughter quiet nastly. itll chase her around the garden attacking her!!! my daughters petrified. Normally itll sit with her and shell pick grass and feed it to her but the last week shes been quite nasty.
Shes an 18 week White star hybrid a few people have said that it could possibly be a Roo. I had her from a week old from a local petshop where they said that she was a girl. Shes not crowing so im not sure that shes a he lol.

It's possible it's a boy, or maybe a hen displaying cockerel tendencies! Post some pics to see what others think. ;)

Personally I wouldn't care what sex the bird was if it terrorized my small daughter. It would be cooked.
Guinea fowl & a lot of surplus poultry equipment.

I'm with Henwife, cull it, eat it, or ask someone to take it and do the same. Don't wait for it to do serious damage.

Simple answer I'm afraid, sorry to be blunt but you have 2 options ;

Get someone to cull it for you ( maybe a local farmer ) or.............

.......keep them constantly confined for your daughter's and anyone else's safety - but that's not fair on the rest of the chickens nor on you and your family, as I'm sure you didn't take them on just so that you can look at them through the mesh

4 Barnvelder x Cream Legbar 1 Blue Splash Orpington 2 Chocolate Orpington 5 Gold Laced Orpington
