Hi Ros....i put in a load of play sand and mixed in a bit of dry soil. They seem to like that. It's not the same as them finding their own spot but I haven't let them free range yet for a number of reasons. X

Took this photo today ... five of them squashed into one of the dustbaths and one of them luxuriating alone in the space of the other ... what had she done wrong? BO perhaps?

my chooks: Sage&Onion, Roger the randy cockerel, Squawkbox, Bonnie 'N' Clyde, Pancakes, Custard, Omelette & EggNog. Plus four garden cats and another half dozen feral ones that I feed. And a nursery of pipistrelle bats in the verandah roof ..

ha ha,, very good, i thought something was burning /smoking in the garden today and when i went for a look it was a 6 bird furious dust bath,
in so so dry soil it was making a dust storm that was thrown up into the air !!

Great pic Moriarty....chickens are ace!!! I know i sound sad but i love mine so much. Going on my hols tomorrow...down to hampshire to see my family and friends. Gonna.miss them so much :(
