Re: I'm livid!

I have since had a look at farming forums and it seems you can buy 1.5kg before they need to ask for something. A lot of grumpy farmers as you can imagine. It needs a LANTRA certificate to get more, not a smallholder's licence, which doesn't seem to exist. Shop lady didn't know any better. There see...

I'm livid!

Went to buy a bucket of rat poison today to be told "only if you have a smallholder's licence"! I am limited to 200g at a time so pay exorbitantly for the privilege!

Rant over.

Re: Help - new chooks!

Probably at least 24 hours to let them know that this is their home now. You may still have to chivvy them in at the end of the day for a while. Good luck and happy hen keeping!

I would judge if you just used it for a short period (say over three months) and then not again, you would not be doing a huge amount of damage - some but in the great scheme of things, minimal.

Re: Fig Tree Jungle

I fear that the chain saw will not do the job as it will re-grow from the roots, which go down a looooong way! In the spring, you will see the re-growth and be able to attack it with Glyphosate which will be absorbed down to the roots. It will probably need more than one application. Fig trees are t...

Re: Fig Tree Jungle

When the leaves sprout, get out the glyphosate and spray and spray. It may take some time but if you keep at it, they will die.

Re: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

No Christmas here at all :( Hubby started in November with two colds in 6 weeks, then head shingles, followed by Bell's Palsy ending up with Gastritis caused by the steroids for the Bells Palsy. Christmas dinner is still in the freezer and I anticipate it being there until around Easter..... Still, ...

Re: Winter shelter

Lots of dramatic snow storms on Thursday - near white out occasionally. All gone the next day. When I kept hens (regretting not having them, but it makes no sense now) I did give them porridge on really cold days but that was my limit. Now I do the same for the wild birds instead.
