Yes they are flighty and lay nice white eggs. they are one of the main breeds that make up the United states hybred commercial layers, they prefer white eggs to our brown

If you do get a pest control company and this includes councils please make sure they don't just trap them and dump them further out in the countryside. Foxes used to human activity dumped in the countryside are a much worse problem than the truly wild foxes

You need to be careful when buying show birds they are not always as true to type as they should be they are bred to show ie looks shape and colour, A good example of this is buff Orpingtons, supposed to be a utility bird ie good for eating and laying eggs a lot of the show birds you see are all fea...

What have I been doing , Well, WE have completely refurbished the house over the last 3 years, Doing well breeding the bourbon red turkeys and I still have the same chickens from when I was last on here(They just wont die :) ) every chicken I get seems to live for about 9 years Had one natural death...

lets hope its a good one, not been on much as we are having the house done up,. all the christmas celebrations and the weather has kept me busy. My chickens and turkeys may as well be ducks with all the rain we have had

They only eat all that stuff because we force it on them and it cheaper for us. the veg they eat by choice is normally to make them selves sick. cows and sheep will sometimes eat afterbirth, does that make them omnivores. both cats and dogs will chew and swallow vegatation to help with digestive problems but that does not make them omnivores they are both carnivores

one of my friends dogs had some dietry problems and was told by the vet stop feeding dried and tinned dog foods and give him meat he now eats mainly rabbit (Raw) problems gone and there is no need to cook anything. we sometimes forget cats and dogs are carnivors

yes its normal, persistence is a definite trait in some birds. try finding her a home or selling her as a good broody you may be surprised some people have problems getting good broody.
