Re: What's getting the ducklings?

Hello

Thank you for that - no, definintely not big enough for Pike!

I'll have a word and see what he wants to do (or rather what he wants his gamekeeper to do).

Re: What's getting the ducklings?

Thank you for your response. I think the most frustrating thing is, that because no-one sees why the ducklings go, it's difficult to stop whatever preditor it is. If it was birds, either Heron, Birds of Prey or whatever, then it would be possible to put the duck & ducklings in enclosed pens. If it w...

What's getting the ducklings?

Hi All My neighbour has ducks, Muscovy, Mallard and white ones (with pompoms on their heads). Two of the Mallards, and the Muscovy have both hatched broods this year, but something is taking the ducklings. It's a farm so initially we blamed rats at night, but the duckings are going missing during th...

Cock Losing Colour from comb

My lovely boy has lost all colour from his comb. It's gone really pale. He's eating normally, seems fine in himself, no diahorrea, pottering about as usual. Anyone any ideas?

Thank you for all your suggestions! I'm most grateful. These are just a few of the flock, there are another 3 birds and 4 chicks which I will hopefully post soon.

Identifying Breeds - Help Please!

We acquired some chickens at Christmas, after they'd been abandoned. However, we have no idea what breeds they are, so in the hope that someone on here might be able to assist, I've posted some photos - any suggestions gratefully received!

Re: What Food would you recommend?

Dr Fish The chicks have been on chick crumb, and are doing well. We got the birds at New Year, but having been reading up on things ever since, I thought it might be worth changing them to pellets alone. I only want to give them corn as a treat, as they are really not free range, but ferral. Corn as...

What Food would you recommend?

Hi all I'm after a bit of general advice, because I'm really confused (doesn't take much)! What would you recommend to feed your chickens on? We got ours after they had been abandoned, and I don't believe they'd ever been fed a proper food as there was no evidence of it where they were. On our hunt ...
