No, these are just a few photos I have saved on my computer. I've never actually kept any American game but it would be nice to get some one day.

Layers pellets

I've been looking at both Dodson and Horrell and Allen & Page Smallholder layers pellets recently and I'm undecided about which to buy. Both seem to be good quality products, with no GM ingredients and are similarly priced, so I just thought I'd ask on here to see which of the two other people prefer.

Re: Change of diet

Thanks Henwife. They do have quite a good sized area of grass to go at but as you say at this time of year everything is frozen.

By the way, what is actually in a layer's pellet? I do know they have a lot of wheat in them but what else?

Re: Sumatra

Beautiful birds. I have never kept Sumatras but is it true that they are very hardy and long-lived birds?

Change of diet

Recently I have been thinking about stopping feeding layers pellets and giving them wheat as the main part of the diet with a few different extras such as fruits and vegetables, rice etc and whatever they pick up themselves. Would this diet be good enough for them and what else could be provided alo...

Crowing

What's the earliest you've ever had a cockerel start crowing? I heard one of my young cream legbar cocks crow today and they were only 7 weeks old on Thursday! It actually sounded quite normal, just similar to a small banty cock's crow.

Re: Cream legbar chicks

Here's a few new pictures of the young cream legbars, they are 7 weeks old tomorrow and I would say there is 3 cocks, 3 hens. Not sure about the big one with the cream coloured front though - is that a normal colour for a cream legbar youngster? http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f320/Pyxel/Photos6th...

Re: Growers

Thanks debcat. Do you feed anything extra to give a bit more protein or do they do OK on just the layers?
